The Amazing Varna Marine Station

If you are planning to rent a car from Varna for your stay in the city and the area, do not forget to visit the Varna Marine Station at the Port of Varna, one of the landmarks of the seaside capital of Bulgaria. The Varna Marine Station is located right by the entrance to the older part of the Varna-East sea port on "Valnolomska" 1 Street.

The Varna Marine Station is located inside the harbor and was built nearly 50 years ago. The building is a landmark for the city. It has 3 floors, which houses duty-free shops, a store yacht stock and equipment, restaurant, offices and more. The Varna Marine Station has an amazing panoramic terrace on the top floor, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the sea and of the port of Varna.

The Varna Marine Station serves passenger liners and cruise ships as well as cargo ships all year around. Thousands of passengers and cargo pass through it annually.

There is a small marina and two spaces on the pier for cruise ships. The yacht Marina is managed by the "Port of Varna" yacht club, which is the organizer of a large number of local and international regattas. Nearby is a multiple winner in many regattas - the amazing "Kaliakra" barquentine.

For the third time, the Varna Marine Station is the host to the most prestigious and major event for Black Sea - SCF Black Sea Tall Ships Regatta. In 2016, the regatta was held in early October 13 amazingly beautiful ships participated in the sail from Sochi to Varna to the delight of the crowd gathered and all the guests visiting the city especially for the regatta. The event ended with a stunning final parade of the participants and a parade of the sails. This top event of the city attracts more than 300,000 visitors from other cities and countries, and every time the number of those wishing to attend this unique event grows.

As part of the regatta, there are numerous concerts, music events, competitions, children's attractions and other fun events for the guests of the regatta and the local residents. Furthermore, all guests are given the opportunity to get on the participating ships and get acquainted with them from the inside for free.

In 2016 a photo contest for pictures taken during the regatta was also held at the Varna Marine Station at which numerous awards and photographic equipment were given away.

Recently, a separate new area designed as a pedestrian recreation and relaxation area with 27 acres was added to the Varna Marine Station. It was developed with the joint forces of the Varna Municipality along with the Port of Varna. This new walkway has quickly become a favorite place for walks, meetings and entertainment for the locals and the guests of the city.
